The Siesta Key Community Inc is an organization with a mission to enforce the longstanding zoning and environmental protections of Siesta Key.  We need dedicated people to help us by donating, volunteering, advocating, and attending public hearings.

Please consider helping our cause in one of these ways: 

 

• Sign up for our newsletter to get updates on upcoming hearings and outcomes

• Donate to the Siesta Key Community Legal Defense fund.  The cost of fighting the proposed changes to our protective land use policies will be expensive so please donate! 

 

• Advocate for our protections!  Write to County Commissioners at

  • Commissioners@scgov.net (to contact all five commissioners)

  • mhsmith@scgov.net to reach the County Commissioner Mark Smith who represents Siesta Key on the commission.  Consider using "NO to mega-hotels on Siesta Key' in your subject line

  • Copy your emails to the Planning Department at planner@scgov.net to be sure it is listed on the record
     

• Write letters to the editor

  • Sarasota Herald Tribune at editor.letters@heraldtribune.com. Note letters can’t be more than 200 words and must include writer’s name, address and daytime phone number

  • Observer  SarasotaLetters@YourObserver.com

 

• Attend public meetings and workshops to show our opposition to removing or changing our protective policies in our Comprehensive Plan
